Cloudscape I

As the daughter of two pilots, I have long watched my parents attempt to conquer the skies. In this piece, I like to imagine that one of their planes has just disappeared behind one of the formations and, if I look closely, the vessel will soon reemerge high above the clouds. The scale in this piece is deliberately ambiguous — these clouds could be hovering just outside of the viewer’s airplane window or swallowing an entire landscape below.
