Bean There Done That

On a recent visit to Chicago, I spent many hours watching people interact with Cloud Gate, Anish Kapoor’s stunning art installation in Millennium Park. Nicknamed 'The Bean' it really seemed to capture the public's imagination. I loved seeing their joy as they spotted their reflections in the polished stainless-steel surface, reminiscent of a blob of mercury.

This piece is created from my original photograph and digitally coloured. I've used bright bold colour to highlight the gorgeous shape of the sculpture, the warped reflections of the Chicago skyline, and to give it a pop-art feel.

The image is printed on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminium which brings out the colours and gives the skyline an etched appearance.
