With both pieces I have submitted, which were made in conversation with each other, the leafy curtain liminal space acts as an other-worldly spiritual place of transformation and growth. The natural setting represents both an abstract healing space within myself to retreat into and reflect within as well as a physical setting, somewhere safe, comfortable, and beautiful, somewhere concrete to escape to. This piece, as the title suggests, was made with my past in mind. When all there is left to do about the past is think, the over-reflection can be very painful. When all there is left to do about the past is think, all there is left to do is weep and get pounding migraine headaches.
